SCHOLARSHIPS


The following types of financial aid are awarded to degree students on the basis of their financial need and academic standing.

Scholarship for New Students

This scholarship is offered to new students with financial difficulties in matriculation. Recipients will be awarded a grant amounting to the tuition fee of their first academic year. Applications for the New Student Scholarship must be submitted at the same time as the application for admission.

Scholarships from Other Organizations

FCCJ Swadesh DeRoy Scholarship
The Swadesh DeRoy Scholarship is awarded by the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan (FCCJ). The scholarship was created in honor of a respected long-time journalist member of the FCCJ. Its purpose is to encourage and support university students who are interested in entering the foreign journalism field.

Other Scholarships

More than 100 scholarships are available. Of these, there are approximately 60 kinds of scholarships for foreign students offered by public or private organizations. Please contact the Office of Student Affairs after entrance for more information.
